Green Building Best Practices Seminar Series

Part 1: Sustainable Landscapes

Join us for the first in a four-part seminar series! Industry practitioners will share practical experience in sustainable landscaping.  Focused on biologically-integrated design strategies that use plants and fungi to treat wastes, increase on-site water retention and soil fertility, reduce topsoil loss, and increase the health of native ecological systems.

GUEST SPEAKER

Penny Livingston-Stark, Principal, Regenerative Design Institute 

Internationally recognized as a prominent permaculture teacher, Penny is the founder of Sustainable Living Designs,  an ecological landscape design firm and the Regenerative Design Institute, an organization focusing on permaculture, nature awareness and leadership training.  She specializes in developing resource rich landscapes, water conservation, rainwater collection, pond design, edible landscaping, perennial farm systems, water purification systems, native habitat development and watershed restoration.  She co- created the ecological design program and curriculum at the San Francisco Institute of Architecture as well as the permaculture program at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.  She is currently running permaculture programs and the Regenerative Design and Nature Awareness Program at the Commonweal Garden an organic farm in Bolinas.
